Start out by saying im single so this doesnt apply to me.

November/December time and your entering the new relationship stage,,, is that too early to be buying gifts or is it the thing to do?

I'm aware there are no clear cut rules on this kinda thing but its kinda tricky,, do you openly talk about it with your new partner? or would that be odd? If she said she wont bother (so you dont bother) then surprises with one would you feel a muppet for not bothering?

think id go for a token gift.. or make it comical, something silly like 10 gifts for £10.. makes it a challenge and personal to what you know about each other so far

plus in weeks to come if it goes tits up,, it was only a tenner

One of my colleagues is in a relatively new relationship (few months) and they have spent at least a couple of hundred quid on each other. I think that is madness personally

Probably also mentioning that they work a second job because they are in a lot of debt. Utter craziness!

We haven;t brought presents this year, we are off to paris next month and both our Birthday's are in December so it just seems pointless. The amount of people that are shocked by that is pretty surprising

I would but nothing expensive. Maybe a film they want or a bottle of their favourite tipple.

My Brother's fiancé actually gave him a list to pass on to us for ideas of what we could get her for Christmas... My jaw dropped from the sheer cheek of it. - I hadn't planned on getting her anything and still won't be as although they're engaged, they've only been going out 6 months or so and she's already coming across as the type that has £-signs for eyeballs.

She can go fuck herself.
