near the sounds of the wimborne quarter jack!

I went food shopping tonight. Normally I`m finished within an hour and have my choice of check-out operators. Tonight I took nearly double the time and was forced to use a self-service till after a supervisor did some trickery to I would have a smoother time. She even started helping me feed stuff through while I packed for a bit.

So, are the shops closing for a month after Xmas Day `coz you`d think the amount of food people were buying ........

Didn't you know the world ends when the supermarkets close for a couple of days?

MAMOBA, miles and miles of bugger all (Aberdeenshire)

Shop like its the apocalypse! Its been mayhem up here.

The shops are closed for one day... many opening boxing day (I avoid them then as a way of supporting staff that have to work to have a quieter day)

One funny thing though was that the reduced price vultures were so busy yarning while waiting for the veg to come out they didn`t notice the reduced meat being brought out! Got some great bargains!!!

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I did find it a little disconcerting that the shelves had emptied of fruit and certain vegetables at 11.30am. There was only one tub of fresh custard left after I had put one in my trolley (not for me, yuk).

I assume all the roads and shops will be closed for the next week.

Lots of people will have family and friends coming for at least one or two meals if not one or two days or longer and will need a lot more shopping than normal. Why not get it all at once to save going out again over the Christmas period?

And also, thinking sensibly for once(!) a lot of people will not be working where they would possibly and otherwise be suitably fed.

I used to have all my meat, snacks, desserts, toiletries and cleaning products for the 2 weeks my children were off school,so I only needed to buy fresh stuff. This was so I could spend time playing with them over the holiday
