We'll be braving it tonite at some point, luckily we don't need the major stuff, as we're going out for xmas dinner, so just the lesser items needed. so no fighting for the last turkey in the shop this year, save for the one dangling twixt my thighs

Cider (the proper cloudy dry stuff, none of your fizzy sweet bollocks), honey and a touch of star anise. The apples in cider work brilliantly with pork and cut through the saltiness of a ham.

Bedworth

We went to tesco at the ricoh today omg people were going mental!

They had extra staff to direct cars around the carpark, we had to wait nearly ten minutes for a trolley and could barely get around the shop for sheer numbers of people. When we'd done it took nearly ten minutes to get out of the car park.

Fortunately we got it all so won't need to go back out again We did ok in terms of budget, only about 50 quid more than our usual weekly shop, including booze

With so many people doing extra shopping when they are feeding ten people, you'd THINK the shops would also have nine less people in because they are being cooked for?

I don't understand why the shops get so busy?

Maybe it's because lots of people forget the cheese so have to go back for things they'd normally pick up another time?

And I suppose those nine people still have to eat the rest of the week so it's not like they don't need to shop at all?

I dunno.
