"Does this phrase wind anyone else up? Whilst I do wish those of you who follow Judaism, Chag Urim Sameach, it still should be Merry Christmas. Heck, I wouldn't mind, "Happy Christmas or Hanukkah". But happy holidays sounds like something you say to your mum and dad, they day before they go to Greece for 2 weeks. " This creeping Americanisation annoys the hell out of me to be honest I grew up in an ethnically diverse neighbourhood and Sikhs. muslims, hindus etc were all Happy to wish people Happy Christmas and I only omit Jewish people from this as I was not aware of any neighbour's Jewish beliefs Anyway I avoid causing upset by replying in kind to any good wishes I receive and otherwise stick to a neutral "Season's Greetings" | |||
