Apparently, there is a new site provided by the BBC "Dimensions".

http://howbigreally.com/

The purpose is to demonstrate the scale of events by overlaying worldwide events on satellite images of your neighbourhood.

Examples are Oil spills, Chernobyl disaster, Luftwaffe bombs ( for some unPC reason ) dropping on your town, and many others.

When asked how much damage a WW2 bomb dropped on Bradford would cause, it is alleged that a leading counsellor replied "There would be £19.2m worth of civil improvements".

Apparently you can also overlay the Gulf oil spill over your area, "so you can see what it would look like from you door".

Now i know crude oil is pretty sticky but as i live at 700 ft above sea level, that is a pretty deep puddle.

Away and play.

np's about hijack, it happens all the time and in any event i find it leads to more posts, more fun

a day trip for £100 bloody hell that is cheap , it's 1000's of miles from here for starters, i can barely get to Skegness for that.

Ok, i'll have 1 adult and 3 children for the outbound journey and 0.87 adults and 3.26 children on the return, thank you muchly.

Skeggy has made a lot of progress in recent years. Got a lovely green beach where you can sit your granny all day to watch the wind farm whilst you go to the pub.

Sorry was referring to the visual pollution inflicted on us by the hardly get its feet wet just offshore wind farm they have seen fit to build at skeggy. A real improvement to our quality of life. Might just charge an aa battery a year if we are lucky, no doubt cost millions and will probably cost more millions to remove when the idiots in Whitehall get round to admitting wind farms are a total waste of time.
