heard today a story if true is just wonderful, a few weeks ago while out for the evening in preston a young girl lost her bag with all her money and cards in it, she was really upset at being in a strange town late at night on her own , a beggar saw her plight and gave the girl the complete takings from his can so she could get home ,that was every penny he had ,a few days later she put this story on line and asked folks to donate £3 to this beggar , so far she has raised £16,000, hope this story is true.

It is sort of.... She got some people to spend a night on the streets and that how they raised the money but I heard it was near to £30,000... But the begged bit is true and she never accepted the money...

There are some good people out there

yeah it's true, i'm from near there. think she's raised well more than that now as well.

awesome though. government couldn't help him so the people took out that middle man and did it themselves.

anarchy all the way...

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Those with nothing or very little are often very generous. I have seen it many, many times.

How wonderful that she didn't take it for granted.

A lovely, lovely story.

There was a story on local radio yesterday that a guy had left his wallet (containing £1,000 in US Dollars for his holidays) on top if a car park pay machine.

An hour or so later, he got a call from NCP to say someone had handed it in.

There are still some good people in the world

I love to hear of things like this. The guy is literally on his arse but would not see another human being be so upset!

In a world dominated by news stories of horrors and atrocities this lifts my heart.

I hope the girls empathy and kindness is rewarded too by a potential employer seeing this story.

What a lovely story to hear about... The beggar literally on the "bones of his arse" and so ready to give his money to a stranger.

Karma certainly visited him...

Quite often those with least to give are the most generous.

and then the government stepped in and taxed the money at the higher rate and stopped all benefits to all those involved I guess
