Away with the fairies (Liverpool to you)

I like staying at home because I get to see my family all over Christmas but the OH does toy with the idea of going away.....he has yet to persuade me

Me and the ex went to Austria for xmas one year. It was shit. They dont really celebrate christmas so had no idea how to throw a party but did attempt to do the traditional dinner. Then they make a massive deal out of new year only we were flying home new years eve. None of this was told to us by the travel agent. It was billed as a christmas holiday! If you want to avoid christmas and maybe winter Id imagine going somewhere hot for the week could be a good idea.

Have escaped Christmas in Goa, Thailand and Morocco before now. Would happily do so again if finances and work allowed.

My friend went on a Christmas cruise when her children were young and loved it. I would like to take my grandchildren abroad to somewhere they have lots of celebrations. No cooking,no wrapping loads of presents and an adventure for them
