There aren't many that can be sillier than that. This was on the threads this morning so I have no more to say on that bit.

I did have someone call in to work distressed with the excuse that their grandmother had been rushed to hospital. As I had signed off two lots of leave in the last couple of years for his grandmothers' funerals and he'd never mentioned having a third (possibly step grandmother) it was bit odd. When he came back to work the next day his grandmother had changed to his pet dog!

well at least you got an apology and some medication can have silly effects on mood and reactions - so maybe not so daft an excuse

maybe it was an excuse but i disagree - some medication totally alters your chemical balance- i see it often
