A lot of old fashioned names seem to be back in fashion. Elsie is a very popular name round here at the moment and I've heard of a couple of Maude's but yesterday I heard of a baby that's been called Gladys, not sure if I could take to that

Mable is back and Eric - I like both names. Plus I've always liked Iris. I have a great aunt Wilhemina - not sure that'll make a come back.

One thing to always remember when naming a child - they will be an adult for most of their life. Will they be able to hold their head up with pride at the name you have given them, or be doomed to a lifetime of 'sorry, but my name is ...'?

I always think if you knew someone with a certain name and didn't get on with them, it puts you off it. Plus surnames make all the difference, I always liked Francesca but it would have sounded terrible with my married surname.

my goddaughter and jays granddaughter are both francescas

I really hate baby name fashion.

I've heard kids round here called Maximus, Honour, Dakota.

I blame Twilight for the sudden surge of Edwards, Isobelles/Bellas and Esmes (All of which USED to be on my list of favourite baby names until Twilight came along - and then I realised I couldn't use them without looking like a fangirl).

We had Hell when naming our son as (as snobby as it sounds) we didn't want him to have a "popular" name. I think we chose well...

I'm waiting for Norris & Betty to come back into fashion.
