used to drive up onto the moors to get a much better un cluttered with light pollution view but to many of the parking places are full of doggers so that a no no now

Which area of the sky do I need to be watching? Am assuming a look towards Polaris will still give the best view?

I don't know I was told to look away from the moon and up. If you look at the moon it will obscure the view.

I can highly recommend an app called star walk.. The free one and the payed one It's really easy to use., and will tell you where to look. X

if you really want to watch the sky you should have a trip to Kielder Forest in Northumberland zero light pollution plus there is a observatory which do special nights to the public well worth it

That would be worth it but as I'm feeling too poorly to even go across the road I doubt I'm going to head north for tonight. I might plan it for the Perseids.

Google the Kielder Observatory went in January not suure if it was £10 or £20 each but it is well worth it was a very good night
