mechanics advice

not far from iceland,,,,,, tescos is nearer though :-) (near leeds)

So I've a citizen belling van, and after driving for a couple of minutes this morning the battery light came on if I turn the head lights off the battery indicator goes off,

not being too savvy

alternator not working properly?

Or a short on the lighting

or?

Could be battery alternator or the belt it's self I am a proper mechanic

Sounds like your battery is not getting enough charge could be alternator or charge belt or could just be the load it's under have you got lights heater radio heated windows/ etc all on shortly after starting are you only using it early morning / evening when it's dark short journeys less than 15?miles lots of stop starts at junctions ? All these put a lot of strain on your battery as does the cold could be it needs to go on a good long run with in daylight with everything that can be switched off to put some charge back into the battery
