I have just got home from work and almost fell over Laughing i know it's not a joke but i received a Letter telling me i must remove my Christmas tree from the front living room window as somebody has complained to the local housing office, Apparently it's is an insult to one of the neighbours who lives facing me that don’t celebrate it they more of less told me who it was, as we have a bout 1 family of Muslims facing us I cant do nothing but remove it I had 7 days to remove it as they cannot open there curtains and see our tree flashing away from the window fuming is not the word.

Does the letter say that thats the reason why? That sounds very odd.

Mind you the neighbours across the (very narrow) road directly opposite my house have enough lights outside to light up my front room like the floodlights at Old Trafford.

But I just close my curtains

This rumour was going around last year about birmingham council it's absolute bullshit and the rumour came from trolls wanting to cause trouble.

Personally I would ring the housing association tomorrow and speak to someone directly to see if this was true or not before going around making rash accusations.

Could be someone with tree envy. My Muslim neighbours get a tin of Roses from me and my Jehovahs Witness work colleague drove out of her way one evening to look at my Christmas lights

Sounds like bull. A christmas tree is not a religious symbol so I dont think they can make you remove it anyway. If they try and you refuse they would need a court order to force you and by the time they got it in court christmas would be over

I work in the NHS and we don't have one either. Think it's more about public funds?

We have Santa visits though, the Muslim kids love him as much as the others.

Nope. The current council I work for let's us have whatever decorations we want, we pay for them ourselves.

The reason at the one in question was given it being the most multi-cultural london borough and offending those who didn't celebrate christmas.
