blocking after sending messages

I sent a message to a couple today. they posted a meet on their profile. I sent them a message to offer my interest, but i received a message stating that they are not interested and then blocked me.

I find that quite rude, its as if ive not understood their refusal.

It does seem rude, but you've got to Realise that some of these people get hundreds of messages a day, so it's their way of making sure they don't get messages from someone they don't want to meet with.

It seems harsh, but don't take it personally.

Unless you were a bit of a bellend in your message of course, then it probably was

They would have gotten tonnes of messages. The block could just be to save their time to easily see they have discounted you.

If I read a profile and I'm out of their range or whatever, I'll block them as it'll save me from reading it again.

You only know they blocked because you tried to contact/reply. They blocked because they didn't want you to reply. It makes a lot of sense for them if you sit down and think about it.

I've found a polite 'thanks but no thanks' often gets responded with 'may I ask why not' or 'thanks for letting me know' etc. which makes for yet another message to delete, harsh but true!

Its just more efficient to block I've found, sorting the inbox can get get a bit much at times.

I say in my profile cock pics lead to instant block, maybe they have something like that in their profile which you either didn't read or chose to ignore. Just a thought

People really don't like their blocking ethos being questioned it invokes a certain amount of irrational hostility as you will find.

I have not one on my block list and I love saying that here on a post like this one ... I have other ways to deal with things . And maybe just been lucky not to have nasty people mailing as I know some do get that here.

They aren't interested in you. They've possibly blocked you to spare your feelings for the next time you would message them.

Some people seem to forget you've told them 'no thanks' and message you again anyway. Blocking them means this can't happen.

the block button is not a weapon, its a tool of the site, they are simply using it as a filter, they decided you werent for them, blocked you to save any further contact and wasting anyones time in future, its one way the block button should be used, suck it up, grow a thicker skin and move on, they werent going to meet you so whats it matter if you are blocked.

This ^^^. OP its one of the tools that the site provides and people use it for different reasons.

If you take it as a 'thanks but no thanks' you'll probably enjoy the site more.

Ive removed posts and Im closing this now.
