That's how it works here. Cardboard / plastic / paper / tins in the domestic recycling bin and glass / textiles to the big recycling hoppers at supermarkets or at the tip.

My council's quite good when it comes to recycling - we got new wheely bins for glass/plastic and paper /cardboard etc.

They do have a problem with bubble wrap though, it's continually left behind - i'd have though it would be kept for the many road workers to play with as all they seem to do is sit in the vans and wait for the holes to dig themselves...

I year ago my council didn't recycle any plastics but they did everything else including food waste.

Thankfully they've included it now.

We used to have a blue box for our glass, now it goes in with all the recycling. We have 3 bins, green for garden waste, grey for rubbish and brown for all recycling. So much easier

Well we only moved into the area10 days ago from an area where you did put glass into the recycle bin so assumed that as glass can be recycled it would be the same system.

But rest assured, we will now use the bottle bank.

I posted the thread in amazement that glass dont go in the recycle bin at home. Its a new one on us and not a dig on the bin men
