Kent

Athletic could mean a few different physiques though. People often assume it's just muscles which is far from the truth IMHO

I've said it before, sumo wrestling is a sport...

Yes, some get confused between being fit and playing sport and having an athletic build.

You can be fit and sporty without having an athletic build, although what people consider an athletic build varies.

And, of course, some are simply deluded.

but they clearly know how to post photos so give those who don't think they are athletic enough for them to pass on by...works quite well really.

Athletic is subjective, you describe yourself as athletic where as I would describe you as slim

"Who cares"

Well I wouldn't say its the most pressing issue I've ever been faced.let's just say its merely a temporary observation,a pattern I have observed

It has been mentioned on here before that a 6 pack on a skinny kid is the same as a big bust on a bbw, thats food for thought! Popcorn

I wouldn't say it's subjective..I have muscle definition.you can see that I have.people on here describe themselves as athletic when they've done nothing athletic in a long long time.

Ultimately, people will describe themselves how they like. Nothing will change the opinion they hold of themselves, least of all a collective of strangers on the internet.

it wont ever change so just deal with it or concentrate those that appeal to yourselves..

Also describing yourself as athletic implies you are fit.

Not just lucky genetically and fortunate to have low body fat,but could have a shocking diet, drink like a fish and smoke like a chimney.

I myself am not "athletic " looking but consider myself an athlete. I have done several iron man triathlons, many marathons etc.. I can run 5k in a shade over 20 mins, squat 180kg, swim a mile in 23 mins.

Yet I am 95kg mostly solid muscle, unfortunately due to age and genetics, covered by a layer of fat.

So I would say yes I am athletic but not athletic looking.

Think the options should be changed to suit the many variations in society. Giving not only appearance but activity levels also.

A few of the guys i've met were athletic several years ago. What a pity they 'forgot' to alter their profile circa five years after giving up all exercise!! Xx

I'm not asking anyone to change, and I do concentrate on what I like.who doesn't?.... Its merely an observation.

I see athletic men as having big shoulders and thighs.Like someone who does a lot of running or throwing sport.

Maybe if the options were.

Athletic/god like

Gym goer/fit

Body builder

Power lifter

Rugby player

Ex rugby player

Over the hill

Never done a day's exercise in my life

Beer drinker

Stig of the dump

Just saying, more options would allow people to be more accurate.

Am sure that there must be variations for ladies also.

Do "athletic" women crack walnuts between the cheeks of their bums? I'm built like Bradley Wiggins, an athlete, but call myself "slim".
