Can't think what the advert was for but do you remember the one with the meercats in a line at the bus stop in the desert. They were off for a night out & one of them said 'have you ever seen me dancing? Really dancing?'

Still makes me laugh now!

Had meerkat stew when out in the Kalahari back in the eighties.

Tough little blighters used to scream when dropped into boiling water soon sorted them out with a rolling pin to the nut.

Good times. Grrrr!!

very true... piglets are cute to watch

(but very hard to explain to a 4 year old why all the baby piggies are trying to eat mummy pigs tummy! )

Near Bristol

We were all looking at the cute meercats when waiting for the boat at Longleat. One of the babies took a nasty tumble down the side of the mound! The lady next to me picked up the cat and then it sunk its teeth into her hand. Doh!

I grabbed its body to stop it scratching her and then it released her and bit me. It wasn't going to let go!

The frightening things was, about 15 of them appeared from nowhere and had they been able to clear the enclosure I'm sure they would have stripped me to the bone.

It held on for a long time and the only thing that enticed it away from my flesh was ice cream.

The keeper said they are nasty buggers and no way cute!

They're wild animals so why anyone would want to pick one up is beyond me

I would have left it to sort itself out,it was probably scared anyway no wonder it sunk its teeth in

*remembers to always have an ice cream handy before going near a meerkat*
