I can't be the only person who breathes in as I drive over them

They're scary and last week as my daughter and I went across one we have to go over quite frequently there was a bloody train coming and the barriers were still up!

Locomotive = an average of 60 Tons, Freight Train with 10 loaded Wagons = 1000 Tons so 1060 Tons coming towards you that will take half a Mile to stop from 40mph, close your Eyes or make sure it's clear and get over it ?

Scarey isn't it, I work in the Rail industry and the Level crossing accidents are normally horrific, take care on them Peeps

A Steam Train will still push you Miles down the Track but will look cuter as it makes your Car look like a mangled Coke Can, just be careful on them and I hope we never meet due to an incident on one !

I don’t know if its still there as I’ve not read the Highway Code for a few years but it used to make me smile reading this line in the how to handle level crossings…..

“Remember… always give way to trains” REALLY? WHY? LOL LOL LOL

I do the same - breathe in and move it! Can't believe some people go over when the lights are flashing and squeeze round the barrier or pedestrians dash across - I suppose it's a form of (un)natural selection! Z

she did but you cant actually see as there is a blind spot when you step on. She looked and the train was there. It made headline news it was really quite bad

Funnily wishy i dont have the full report in front of me, but im sure if you want to know the answers to your question you can look it up on line. As i said it was a big thing here at the time and was documented

near the sounds of the wimborne quarter jack!

There`s one in Poole High Street in the pedestrianised part. Someone waiting at the barriers pushed a pushchair too close to the barrier and when the barriers went up, they took the pushchair with them. Fourtunately the owner of the pushchair had taken the child out beforehand and had the child in her arms!

There's a solution at hand.

Speed bumps. Just before each level crossing. On the tracks of course.

It could have the side effect of increasing train travel, watching all the luvvly jubblies wobble over each one.
