Hi,

I never understand why people put themselves down on their profiles, a little bit of wit if fine.

In my experience we are all attractive to someone and attraction comes in a many forms not just physical.

Am i off the mark on this

I'm pretty insecure and was an ugly kid - or so the school bullies told me. As a defence mechanism I started to put myself down in a jokey way before anyone else could do it for me! It's a hard habit to break!! xx

Sometimes it is a personality trait, people can be naturally self-deprecating

Sometimes it also useful to try and avoid coming across as arrogant - there is a fine line between confidence and arrogance. One is a major turn on, and one a major turn off.

Attraction may come in may forms. ..and I have none of them. ??... I have humour and self deprecation. .. so I fill my boots with both.

I'm fairly self deprecating. I wouldn't put it on my profile unless it was funny. I aim to be humorous in my self deprecation, but I'm shit at it so fail quite frequently

For what its worth a little self deprication, usually means that someone is at least a little humble..

No matter what you say that is a far more attractive quality than someone saying I am a superfly, good looking, stud muffin, bastard and all you ladies should be proud to be in my queue!!

I read a profile that said "Alpha Female" What the fucking hell does that mean.. She is basically saying.. I am better than all of you so only seriously hot, cultured, superfly males apply... Well good luck with that.. I know for a fact the type of guys you will attract.. You can spend your meet looking in the mirror!!

Just my opinion but someone who is ever so slightly humble is far more attractive than someone who is brash and self obsessed...

I will put this soap box away now!!

.

Just because someone is being honest doesnt mean theyre putting themselves down.

I look at it as being confident of who they are and by putting such statement they can avoid getting messages from people who are not into their type.

As for seeking attention, in this site...who doesnt..?
