Hate using those fecking machines in the bank, would rather que to avoid using them. Had a member of staff ask me once if i would like to use the machine instead, told them exactly where to go and asked for a feedback form to make a complaint, que for counter service was very long and no-one was using the machines, when will they get the message?

i get this in the bank, member of staff asking what i'm queing for.

i asked them why they were asking me and they said"to see if i can help you with something"

my reply was, the best help you can give everyone in this queue is to get behind one of the empty counters then you will be helping everyone

my kids loved the argos catalogue - we always had one on the go - spent hours writing their name on certain things they would like off santa/for the birthday/ stuff for their rooms etc -

I do find it slightly ironic that folks on a website are saying that the use of computers is 'too much'..

back to magazines and sending pictures in the post etc..

err no ty..

Is fraud really 'off the scale'? And how would more counter staff have any impact on that?

Never mentioned the word "computers" in my post, the couple who made the comment about the POST OFFICE did'nt either, i think the word used was "machine(s)", but hey ho.

I think the point that people are trying to make is why change a service that works well (and quickly) to something new that takes longer than it did before? Does'nt make sense really?

pedantic is as pedantry does eh..

its called 'progress' I think..

for the record we also prefer the personal interaction in banks etc and don't use online to send gas or electric usage but mainly because if we all did so then that's less jobs for others..

Same thing in the supermarkets. I refuse to use the self serve machines. On the times I have they have gone wrong and ive had to wait for a checkout assistant to come and help

we are talking about all staff that controlled our money before people like Barclays thought they had missed a trick by paypals dramatic rise and decided like all the other banks that they could make even more money going computerised and sooner or later getting rid of the entire staff
