He doesn't know that you're taking it, only that he's prescribing it.

Why bother getting the prescription then?

That's nothing. My Doctor didn't even have a Tardis. Probably NHS cuts beginning to bite.

He shouldn't prescribe it then without knowing who is taking the medicine....

"He doesn't know that you're taking it, only that he's prescribing it."

It could be a question that comes up in relation to other medication you're on. So not a daft question at all.

Some women may not understand their pills. They may have stopped taking the contraceptive pill but still get it because it's on the repeat prescription list.

Menston near Ilkley

The doctor was suggesting that perhaps you might be looking at it in the near future. If so you would then need to give the drugs time to leave your system perhaps?

None, not one single one.

I get asked if I'm pregnant everytime I have an xray or mri scan.....I'm 58. They have to ask until you're 60 now so maybe they have to ask everyone if they're trying for a baby regardless of information suggesting that they probably aren't.

Well the surgery I attend won't prescribe meds without seeing the patient or knowing their medical history....in case of repeats a certain amount is allowed before being called in for an appt.

I'd be a little concerned if my GP prescribed me the Pill whilst asking if I was trying to get pregnant.

this pill dilemma is the same scenario ..a guy your with doesnt want a baby ..you do ...he tells you to get to the docs smartish and get on the pill ..you do that ..leave them next to the bathroom sink so next time he goes for a piss he 'knows' your on the pill ...next thing you are pregnant ...ehhh ...how did that happen ??

MAMOBA, miles and miles of bugger all (Aberdeenshire)

Metformin can be used by women with PCOS to help control their insulin resistance which affects their cycle, so can be prescribed at times to assist fertility.

Also the pill can be used to help force a cycle for women who may struggle to menstruate naturally, or to allow a lady to have a certain number of periods a year to ensure a healthy lining of the womb again to assist in trying for a baby... so maybe not such a daft question.

this repeat prescription and my doctor wouldnt do it falls flat on its face if you turn up at a doctors surgery and say you are a temporary resident of that town

..they have to see you ...you can make name after name after name up and leave copious amounts of surgeries armed better than the local chemist

Well if you put it like that maybe it isn't a daft question...

I'd say from the OP's reaction tho she isn't being prescribed the meds for those reasons which I hope would be reflected on her records.

the short answer is ..lots ....

their guy doesnt want a baby ...she does ..goes to the docs and gets a pack of

pills to prove it ..hes daft enough to believe it ...next thing ...ebay for christening gowns ...its a reasobable question ...doctors take the same oath as priests ..so if you were trying to trick your fella into getting pregnant you could chat to your gp about it

My new doctor asked me if I'd considered the pill, but I wanted to suggest we'd be fine if he just used condoms, as he seemed fit to fuck and was presumably full of potent sperm.

To convince a partner who doesn't want kids that you're taking contraceptive measures.

Well I didn't know metformin helped with fertility!...thought it was to help with the symptoms of pcos....and weight management

Deffo not sneakily trying for a baby....we have 5 between us, too old, too fat, too tired, too busy!

"Debbie, 34, was found floating in the Dee after discovering she was pregnant"...Chester chronical newspaper.....

Gonna be paranoid now, the pill is doing nowt for my cycle...2 periods in 2 weeks.....might take 2 pills just to be on safe side
