Stopping in York, just had dinner in the hotel and it was 70 fecking squid! Scallops n belly pork to start, fillet then cheese board plus a bottle of plonk to last me 2 nights (yeah, right)...thank feck I'm on expenses but I think I may have to utilise the "you expect a single woman to head off into a strange town on her own to find somewhere cheaper" when I put my claim in!

Yeah, she suggested Subway

Dinner is included in the overnight, but it's £27 allowance...looking at the restaurant menu, the cheapest 3 course I could possibly get is £27.50. I reckon I'll be having a panini in the bar tomoz

We were in York yesterday

£6.50 for some lovely fish n chips.

Sat on a bench & scoffed it.

That's where you'll have to go tomorrow to make up for your overspend tonight

Sounds like a good meal. The cheeseboard is always bleeding expensive, mind. And why do they never give you enough crackers or butter?

With a price list that's out of the range of the Duke of Westminster. Even Caz's tea would have been cheaper than a meal at Bettys.

Somewhere in North Norfolk

I haven't been to York in ages. It's a beautiful city. I must plan a visit.

Then again, I have several people in other places I've been promising to visit for ages, and I'm up to my ears in study commitments.

Maybe in the summer...

York actually has some fantastic independant eateries where you can dine well and get away with your wallet fairly intact and lots of places that will realy take your pants down as well !!
