A female friend of mine is married to a submariner and has been for about 8 years.

She's telling me she's not happy in tier marriage but she cannot afford to divorce him! She's asking me if I'm willing to have look to have an affair with her! She's said she likes me and wants a serious relationship with me but she has to stay married!

Don't do it matey, it'll cause no end of misery, think of the poor guy under the sea serving his country which includes you. If she isn't happy then she can leave him, after two years of separation a divorce can be done for about 300 quid. If she's so unhappy then she'll do something about it, being the bit on the side will only end in tears

I've got to agree with this. I was terrified of how I was going to manage financially when I decided to split with my hubby but just couldn't take being so miserable together.

Nearly three years on and I'm still battling through the debt he left behind but can honestly say I've never been happier.

Regardless of the married lady's circumstances, she may not have finances to leave, it isn't easy to simply move on, but I'm guessing that she wants a bit of company when the hubbys away. You already have a fwb understanding so how does an affair differentiate, does it mean she expects you to be exclusive.

You're a very young man, regular sex is a temptation but the potential problems that will arise winter be worth it. I can see how two people in similar situations could get together but when one is young, free and single with no commitments then the odds of an unhappy ending seem high

Fucking someone behind closed doors for each other's benefit is one thing an affair is another thing all together. Would you really take the chance of being seen out together in public ? That's when you are bound to get rumbled as no matter how careful you think you are being someone will see you. Even if it is not a friend of either of you but sooner or later things have a habit of going pear shaped as in someone will recognise you two and then see her with the hubby and pass some comment about seeing you before but not with that guy and hey presto BUSTED!!!

If you are both happy fucking each other on occasions and it's out of sight of other peeps then why complicate things any more? It's one thing to be ducking his missus but another thing to embarrass him by letting other people know about it!
