Mine was No 3 and I bought the previous two shortly after. I still have the first 20 on vinyl then switched to CD and I had every one up to about 70, then split with my ex and he refused to let me take my CDs with me so I lost absolutely loads of stuff

"i tell you what, if they gave you the data version of your album with your vinyl id never buy another CD. "

196KHz 24 bit; you have no idea what you are missing until you listen to the music.

Music has been ruined by compression; at least there are are quite a few people realising this and are, now, going back to source material.

MP3 et al; responsible for the dumbing down of music.

Couldn't agree more. So much is lost on a CD compared to vinyl. Not so much newer recordings but on older recordings things like room dynamics and Mic crossover is lost when the top and bottom of the wave form is "trimmed"....

It hasn't been ruined. I think MP3s and vinyls actually complete each others: it's good to have thousands of songs always available on your player, but it's also good to have a beautiful physical object with a great sound.

Weren't those TOTP albums horrid cover versions of the hit singles of tge time?!!

I vaguely remember getting 'stung' by one, I do know I gave it away.......to someone I didn't like much....!!!

BTW......My very 1st album was Piledriver by Status Quo......I still remember saving like crazy for weeks to buy it.....the euphoria when I first played it was short lived......the Bush radiogram needle was, well....bushed!!!

Skidded like mad all over the vinyl after a couple of plays......Arrrgghhh..!!!!!

Nottingham

Never owned a one.

Only ever had cassettes or CDs.

Not old enough to have bought them as a kid and not enough of a hipster or DJ to have bought any as an adult.

I wouldn't think you're the only one who regrets that long-ago 'trip to the tip', Darling...!!!

'Angel Eyes' was a 1980's release when Ferry & co. kind of jumped on the disco bandwagon.......I don't remember if Brian Eno was still with them at this stage.......

'Virginia Plain' was an early '70's release......I was at school when I first heard it......I loved it but I remember my Mum hated it, for one reason or another........ XXX
