I can testify to the veracity of this (not from personal experience, obviously - it's been MANY years since I had enough hair to merit colouring).. my sixteen-yr-old has been using a red tint on hers for a while, and she needs to keep re-doing it as it seems to fade very quickly to an unnatural looking pinky/orange..

I agree about red fading but never had it go pink, i do always get it done professionally every six weeks and thats ok as i dont get any roots. As mine is so bright when i have it done even when its supposedly faded its still very red. Have to say personally id never dye it myself red
