My wife smokes but I do not (gave up as a news years resolution(round of applause)) anyway I booked a hotel in West Brom and was asked if I wanted a smoking or none smoking room and as my wife smokes I took the smoking room, but it's the first hotel that's ever asked us also how do they bypass the smoking rules???

Menston near Ilkley

You're allowed to smoke at home, the room is your temporary home.

penrith

Having worked in a hotel... they can do it as long as there are two doors between a smonking n a non smoking room..

so the bedroom door and a corridor door..

normally meaning they have one corridor of smoking rooms

It is not against the law (despite what some hotels state), provided the room is only ever let to smokers. But, despite being a filthy smoker myself, I prefer to have a fag outside and enjoy a clean smelling room.
