Most make their meeting decisions based on someones online persona.

Some like to delve deeply into the online persona, others like to get past that stage as quickly as possible and meet the actual real personality.

In your experience would you say most of the people you've actually met in person match their online persona?

In all cases I liked the person, more than their online persona, sometimes considerably more because I didn't know them online for very long

Generally yes. The ones I'm not sure about, it's because I didn't really get to know their online persona or their real life one either.

I would say yes they do and I delve a lot,my most regular playmates are who I've known for years and who I chatted online with for ages

I have found that men I have been attracted to and played with at a club or a party very rarely interest me after the event and its rare that after the usual post meet chat for a few days after that I'll be bothered about meeting them again

The right place

So far, so good. The only way to really get to know someone is in person but you can get a reasonable idea from messaging.

I chat online a lot before meeting and I have only really been pleasantly surprised. Most have been exactly how I thought they would be and some have been so much better.

I've met a couple of people who seemed appealing from their online personas, but were utterly vile in person. Conversely, I've met those who weren't very expressive or even enthusiastic in their messages on here, but face to face were lovely company.

That is very true. Also it works both ways. There have been people I have met who are great fun to chat with but I just did not fancy them. Likewise some did not take to me. Cant know how things will go in advance, just hope for a connection and a good time.

Physical attraction and body language are such huge parts of whether it's going to work, but I do think you can get insights into a person's true character from their online persona.

I also think some people have a better instinct at reading someones online persona than others.

Yes I would have to agree with this....with some people I chat to I just get a happy feeling that I will find them attractive on meeting them....I haven't got it wrong yet.
