has just passed my lips.

It was a Waitrose mini mince pie.

Filling was a bit on the mean side but otherwise damn tasty.

In one of the supermarkets (Asdas or Sainsburys or something like that) I know you can get mince pies all year round, not just at Christmas

They just don't have a 'festive' box the rest of the year

Started on them back in October, soon as they started appearing in supermarkets.

I'm such a fatty!

Mmmmm blue now you have put that in my mind. When I return back to UK, which will be this week.

I will have an Irish coffee and a hot mince pie with clotted cream and I will wash it down with a few jars of the amber necter.

Second note to self fly in to Manchester rather to Heathrow to collect mince pies before some bugger beats you to the punch

Been eating them from early October - probably in excess of 30 pies by now - so I'm bad - spank me (with a holly branch - or is it too early for that as well?)

Cut a few branches and get the pies in - I'll be round before you can say ho, ho, ho

I saw them called lady fingers on a menu recently - when I pointed it out to my friend, she said I have a filthy mind !

Minced pies with icing on are the best. Very bad for you though !

My Nan has the superstition that for every home made mince pie eaten between Christmas Day and twelfth night , you will have one perfect happy month during the following year. She says they all have to be made by a different person, so we all take her mince pies round. I reckon she's onto a good thing there !
