Odds bodkins, that one is old. It's on a par with Dave Spikey telling a joke at a show I saw him in, about a skeleton in a pub ordering a pint and a mop.

It was nothing to do with Operation Yewtree.

John bishops joke delivery is okay, but can sound laboured and formulaic. I can usually guess the punchline just by his delivery of the feed. It is like listening to the football scores and guessing the second teams score by the intonation used in the words prior to it.

What I don't like is the way the BBC seem to be force feeding us with bishop, McIntyre, Miranda what's her name etc. Bland is good is it?

They do seem to be on our screens a lot and will continue to be until the off button is deployed .

There are some fantastic comedians on the circuit who haven't yet had a big break, or perhaps never will.

Adam Staunton is fairly unknown, but I saw him do a great 20 spot a few months back. He's a Scouser, but doesn't labour the point. It's incidental to his set. I was extremely impressed with him. He's about the size of a hobbit, looks 12 and when he walked on stage I think everyone thought he was collecting glasses or was going to give it a sweep, yet within 30 seconds of opening his mouth he had the room in his hand and stormed it.

I actually sent him a message afterwards, telling him how impressed I had been and his reply indicated that he was worried that it hadn't gone well

At least the bbc are trying. It seemed to suffer a death of comedy over the last few years. Bbc3 and 4 are its saving grace.

YouTube Eddie Flanagan,he was a good scouse comedian he was,liked George roper too.

Have seen Bish live and used to listern to him every Sunday in my car on Radio Shity..
