Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

My cat has been dead for two years now so why can't I break the habit of leaving the living room door ajar so the cat can come in?

What's yours?

I always leave about a cm or so of tea or coffee in the bottom of my cup cos when I was a kid I drank coffee grains and tea leaves by accident.

Couldn't that happen again though?

I used to ring an old lady every evening.

Just so she could chat to someone at least once a day.

Just general chit chat but it made her day and gave her a bit of a boost after her hubby and son passed away.

I even did it when I was on holiday.

Did this for over 3 years. Then in August she died.

I still go to pick the phone up 3 or 4 times a week.

Amazing how conditioned the mind becomes.

Perhaps you can get yourself another old lady?

I have an old lady who calls me as a wrong number every other week or so. She apologises and we have a chat and then she says thank you and goodbye. Then she'll call again a couple of weeks later.

I had an old lady ring a few times a week asking for Maud. My husband thought it was a man calling for me

No, because I don't drink all my tea or coffee.

You sir, are a true gentleman. The kind we all hope our grandparents discover. Well done.

Not a bad idea.

I have done voluntary work for the elderly on & off from being 16.

It is amazing how much difference you can make giving up a couple of hours a week.

For now though, I need some time for 'me'
