I don't know the womans name but she is the actress in Coronation Street who works in the pub ?? Liz somebody ? she has a husky voice but it does seem to have come from smoking would you say ? whereas Marielle Frostrup and the like are more naturally husky ?

Beverly Callard...yes, definitely from smoking as is Mariella Frostrup's.

Having said that I've known a few women who have husky voices who have never smoked...and women who smoke but don't have husky voices at all.
