How do you like a man to smell?

Ipswich

Aftershave/Anti-perspirant/Natrual? By natural, I don't mean BO...

I'm not a great fan of aftershave as I've never found one I like. And there's always the problem of: how much have you used, and will she/they like it?

Many's the time I'm licking a partner and I get a tongueful of scent.

i knew what you meant

I prefer subtle, not too much, overpowering is not sexy, like you say, a mouthful, Lynx and Paco Rabanne are nice

little house on the praire

As long as they smell nice i dont mind what there wearing. I dont like an overpowering smell but something quite subtle.

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

A little of something subtle always works...it doesn't seem to matter what as nobody can tell which is which - the number of times I've been asked "is that xxxx?" When it's something else.

I can only wear certain brands (the others bring a rash)

Lynx is one of the ones i can so i dont really bother that much anyway

But im pretty much always in the bath (twice a day lol) so it dont matter ta me as i have virtually no sense of smell anyway pmsl xx

I like a man to smell through his nose...anywhere else would be freakish!

I too like a subtle scent...on clean skin.

Met a man for a drink after work - obvously popped into Boots and picked up the cheapest "pour homme" and splashed it on over his sweaty skin...not nice!

I use Issey Miyake as it's very subtle and you only need 3 squirts of the spray. I also use Autograph from M & S if I fancy a change. A touch of Lynx deodorant to go with my aftershave and that's about it, I'm a creature of habit.

I've also started using men's face/skin care products and found Elemis to be pretty good, although it's not cheap at £75 for a Universal Travellers Kit which contains:

- Ice-Cool Foaming Shave Gel 200ml (full size)

- Eyes Awake Recovery Gel 10ml (full size) - Excellent stuff!

- Pro-Collagen Hand and Nail Cream 20ml

- Lip Revive 7ml (full size)

- Time Defence Wrinkle Delay 15ml

- Time Defence Eye Reviver 5ml

- Energising Skin Scrub 20ml

- Sharp Shower 50ml

- Deep Cleanse Facial Wash 50ml

- Skin Soothe Shave Gel 30ml

- Instant Refreshing Gel 15ml

Well I figured that at 45 I've been lucky not to have any wrinkles and only a tiny spattering of grey hairs at the temples. So I'm just trying to head off the inevitable for as long as I can get away with it lol

Heres one on the same subject...Old Spice.

There were a lot of radio ads for it during the world cup so I went and bought some to see what reaction it would get and it was all pretty good. No one said it reminded them of their dad/grandad, which was a bonus!!

What do the forum-goers think?

I found rather than spray perfume on my skin i spray it on the clothes i'm wearing. It lasts longer and no nasty taste on the guys tongue. Maybe you fellas should do that with the aftershave. I like a delicate smell of aftershave not a really heavy one

I must admit I love the smell of Dove soap. I think that's all that's needed if you manage to grab the man straight out the shower!

We have his 'n hers Armani Code (love it!). I bought Pom's as a pressie ... was in Boots and gulped at the prices so thought I'd get the smallest bottle. When the assistant asked what I wanted, I said (in front of a queue of people) 'Can I have the £25 small bottle of Armani Code please?'

'Madam' she replied, 'That is the shower gel. The small bottle is £49'

I bought it anyway as I was too embarrassed to walk away. He bought me the girlie version for my birthday

I nice cologne is good and freshly washed beforehand is a must. Spraying to cover b.o. is the worst though as you get an unpleasant mix.

... Through his nose....

In all seriousness as I get older i starts to realize how much hassle women go through

Cowshed facial scrub, then shaving oil then face shave

Body wash with koros juniper

Simple toner, then shave balm, then moisturise

Sure for women ant persp

And the cologne on the body, not on the face destroy all the moisturisers good stuff.. Aqua Palma colonia... Expensive stuff but very nice

Net result, about 5 years younger and nice skin, I bloody hope

Ooo freshly washed and loads of aftershave, mmm love it, always makes me want to get closer. Im not keen on guys who use loads of perfumed shower gel on their bits, i prefer to taste a guys natural taste down there, rather than a mouthful of lynx - but it has to be natural scent, anything sweaty or unwashed puts me right off

Whilst the panel thought that Femme had done really well in the Nouvelle Cuisine quarter final, they felt that both her enthusiasm and creativity were admirable, they really couldnt broadcast her semi-final recipe.
