First time I went round to the BF's I realised he owns a portable ladder so he can reach all his books on the plentiful shelves. Words fail me as to how much of a turn on that was!

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I only read books. It's just not the right experience for me reading a novel on a tablet. I have run out of shelf space and am going to have to cull but it's books all the way here.

I hate culling books,I have a wardrobe,a garage and a loft full and I have given lots away but I don't enjoy doing it,I read lots of them more than once

Ah books, i can't buy a kindle as you just don't get the same experience, the touch, the smell etc It is almost erotic - odd i know.

As for ladder to reach his shelves, awesome, wish my ceilings were high enough to do that, although i have one room that has bookshelves on all four walls and they are all groaning.

I read books. I have a tablet but I just can't imagine uploading and reading a book on it. I like flicking the pages and having a nice postcard as a bookmark.

I'm moving bedrooms and having a clear out and didn't realise how may paperbacks I had. Most are chick flick holiday reads but I hope the charity shop will appreciate them.

You make it sound like it's a strange, outdated practice.

Don't see the point in buying a kindle.

Would rather have a book with pages

Aww I know the feeling! Love how tactile a book is

I'll pop into waterstones and browse from time to time even when I have no intention of buying just for the smell and look and feel of the place!

I often read books, I can l end them to a mate when I finish reading them. You can't do that with a kobo.

I like looking at the books people own or have read on their shelves you can't do that either with a kindle.

I buy most of mine from charity shops. And when I've read them I donate them back

When I was at school (Fox) I loved Douglas Adams Hitchhikers series, a few years back I bought the Salmon of Doubt and put it to one side and forgot about it.

Last week I found it and sat and read it and it was like listening to a long lost friend.
