It looks quit cool, there has been a big hoohah about the launch, it hasnt quite lived up to its promises and the battery life is rubbish.

Did the Apple iPhone team design it?

In regards to the battery thing:

I heard this jokingly last night, but then they might of been serious.

The thing went up 10 years ago didnt it, battery tech has moved on since then.

Heard this morning that ht plan was to assess its situation and orientation, do as much science as they could on remaining battery life and then take a decision as to whether to risk deploying drills and leg flexors in order to attempt to improve it's solar energy collecting potential.

I think they would have reached that point sometime today.

The risk is, that as it only weighs 1g on the comet, any deployment of robotic arms etc in order to try and adjust it's attitude, might dislodge it from the comet altogether.

I'm sure there'll be an update on the news

Just read that they tried to tip it over a bit with a robotic drill arm, but it didn't work, so now they're going to use the remaining battery power to spin up a flywheel and activate a leg spring to try and get it to cartwheel somewhere sunny
