How long in advance do you plan your holidays, where in the process of deciding where to have our main holiday next year. Scotland again is favourite at the moment

I have given up making long term plans because life changes at the drop of a hat

I'll plan things a few weeks before we go anywhere these days,it's easier

A week beforehand. I'm crap at planning things and more of a spur of the moment type of person.

It depends normally I will book summer and winter early but this year with all the issues winter in Egypt is off the cards so it will be the week before and hope i get some place decent.

Central

I have long term multi year expectations that are outline plans. I do most holiday bookings at the last minute, due to stuff going on and eagerness to pay over the odds. Just booked my winter overseas trip, for 4weeks time, so I'm a bit of a mix.

Went to oz and Hong Kong in Sept which I booked 3 or 4 days before.

I like the spontaneity of finding some free time, and booking something that meets my needs there and then and just going. I've turned up at Heathrow, booked and flown a few times, but try usually to have more planning time.

Some hold are great to have a long period of anticipation and excitement before them though.

Essex, near basildon

Nothing booked so far which is unusual for us!

Thinking of La Mirage in the new year followed by west coast states later in the year.

Might get an Amsterdam trip in April/May

West Yorkshire

I've been comparing prices of seaside hols for either may half term or first week of the summer holidays next year. Cheaper to go in May of course but we did that this year and by halfway through the summer holidays it seemed like forever ago that we went away.

It only takes a day to process,as long as you've got a new electronic passport.

Right. Not due a new passport for a while so I'll have to apply for the visa earlier.

easy answer - no holiday at the mo as cannot afford much more than living - my son has moved to germany so this will be my next trip - passport has expired so got to be able to afford to renew that too - sheesh -

hopefully we are having a weekend away together to go to chams with some fab friends so that will more than do me
