Truro

isn't going to happen now. Read on the net that they were told they could earn upwards of $800millon for 35 concerts in 3 cities on 3 continents.

Apparently, Mr Plant said he doesn't need the $200million he would have got from it, and turned it down.

So looks like I'll have to stick to Led Zep tributes

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

Like any of us would ever be able to afford one of the tickets.

Apparently Pink Floyd (what's left of them) might be touring soon.

I had Robert Plant singing in the back of my cab last week. It was quite an experience.

Yea, but it wouldn't really be Led Zep - Robert Plants voice just isn't up to it anymore, it wasn't at the last reunion gig IMO.

Mind you, I got to see the infamous Earl's Court gig so I'm biased.....

I saw robert plant and his band of joy a few years ago and they did a few zep covers... Think he does similar with his new band the sensational space shifters?

In a way I respect him for not selling out like the stones and other classic acts who play for £s

Ah you lucky lemon squeezer.

On the one hand I'm gutted, I'd sell my gran to see zep live even if Plant's vocals weren't quite what they were.

On the other hand, Plant is an artist, money isn't his motivation. He's still making new music rather than milking greatest hits for cash like the stones

Saw a Zep tribute band last night called "Whole Lotta Led" and they were really good.

We've seen them a couple of times now and each time has been a different set.

We can highly recommend them if they play near you.

Saw led zep at knebworth in the late 70s and at the O2. Sad to say they were dire. Seen Robert plant twice solo and he was equally poor.

There is nothing worse than bands reforming for the money rather than for the music. Fair play to them for having the integrity to refuse the money being waved at them by promoters

Sit by Planty at the wolves he's a fucking top man. Glad he's still grounded enough not to steal a living, plays what he wants and does what he wants!!

Isn't it a bit like being over nostalgic over an old car you had in your youth and now it has no doors and won't run properly?

West Wales and Cardiff

On the subject of "stealing", they were the biggest culprits for, ahem, "interpreting" the music of blues musicians without giving credit.

They should reform and give a big chunk of the profits to the descendants of those blues guys.

Plant seems like a really good guy in fairnes.
