If we had a spare room. Lots of young adults end up in sheltered accommodation *shudder*

I don't know anyone who would even consider it.

It's a big responsibility and many would be concerned about the emotional reasons that bring those people into your home.

A great idea yes. I guess communities and families should be fulfilling this need but people should be entering into it with eyes wide open and not having a romantic notion about the help they offer ?

Not sure - I'd like to think I would but it would take a lot of mulling over. Do you know if you get told everything about the person or it is just based on trust?

I think it's less about having an effect on someone else's life and making it better etc etc, and more about providing a little normality for them. But at least living as a lodger is not being homeless or even classed as someone with a 'housing need'. Normality is important. I do agree with what your saying though. My great aunt used to take homeless people in and try and convert them to Christianity to save their souls...

When I was 12/13 I was put in care and remember only to well how alone and unwanted I felt. so yes if I could help a kid like I was then I would. I'd even go for the real problem 1s to as I think I'd relate to them best as I've a slightly colourful past myself

You could ask your local council or social services maybe?

I've just been in a homeless hostel with my kids and hated it.

Same here, my lad is here every other weekend and when he's not here no problem...but it wouldn't be fair to him to have someone else here.

Otherwise I'd definitely do it
