No. That's the same with almost any criminal. Someone I know used to be involved with a charity that catered for prisoners families, some of the stories were heart breaking

dudley

It is very true & my grandfather always told me that a prisoner was being punished along with their families. I had it drummed into me that my actions effected more than just myself and think long and hard about anything I did

Nothing to see here. Please move along.

In some respects a criminal gets more help and rights than their family.

They have to live, possibly in the same community as the crime was committed while the perpetrator is inside. If the crime was bad enough the criminal will be relocated, leaving family members to bear the brunt of the hate.

Dont just say the family can move as poverty, work commitment or other issues can impede the possibukity of relocation. The police, social services and housing officials will take no action unless there is a very serious event. Some families spend years with low level hate and harassment. I can tell you all this from personal experience and in the long term it is soul destroying

I thought it was quite interesting to hear actually, straight from someone's mouth rather than media angles and pressures etc
