culture confusion

We're all from different areas,upbringing or even countries.

So what were the things you were brought up to believe were the norm only to find people "from not round here" had no understanding of as your culture or colloquial ways are different ?

I pronounce EAR as year and get a blank look at the word cwtch or telling folk ill be there now in a minute....how about you ?

Lol I moved to live the other side of Clawdd Offa for about four years and got those blank looks and the mick taken out of me for year, ear and here all sounding the same.

Ha the whole time I lived abroad people said I talked to fast to understand.
