Probably it could eventually but I think the technology required to do it entirely is still some way off.

Does anyone see a time when robots will be so perfect that some people will prefer them to a human partner or maybe replace a dead or somehow absent partner with a robot replica?

No robots couldnt do my job as they are a bit rough, but thankgod they invented beds that go up and down,slidesheets, hoists, standaids and turntables makes it bit easier on us physically. Gone are the days physically lifting people

No. I am payed to think as wellvas do. AI is not and does not look likely to become sophisticated enough to replace people in the workplace. A robot is a complex tool used to automate a production line. Until they become self aware, but then we will all be dead.

They've already done robots that repair robots.

3d printers are being replicated by .....3d printers!

30 years ago fiat did the first ever robot built car (pretty awful I must admit) but then the zx81 was the average home computer!!.

3/4 of the world's jobs are menial tasks!, corporations go all over the world seeking cheaper labour!.

It works 24 hours needs no sleep, toilet, fag, food or talking breaks never phones in sick or gets pregnant, requires no pay and is an absolute slave...

Having worked with automated factory lines most of my working life including car manufacturing where both weld and assembly robots were used I do agree that the automation has taken jobs, however they also create jobs with maintenance, programming and engineering. Unskilled jobs lost yes but skilled jobs gained.
