The only whisky I have bought was a present. Tyriconnel or Tyriconnel? An Irish whisky, soft as silk, without any of the abrasion of other whiskeys I've had. It was a drink you could enjoy all might if you wanted. Gorgeous

On our honeymoon in Scotland we were speaking to a Scottish barman and he said best way to drink whisky is with a little bit of chilled water!

Penderyn is also nice too x

I was a barman in Scotland for 5 years so ended up getting quite a taste for a couple of different ones. My favourites are:

1 - lagavulin

2 - port wood glenmorangie (not the new quinta ruben, but the original port wood)

3 - penderyn. Despite my time I'm Scotland a Welsh whisky gets in there!

Ardbeg is the king of Whisky IMO.

I also like Bowmore, Laphroaig and Dalwhinnie.

Sadly, my budget rarely stretches to malt -

Of the blended whiskies Ballie Nichol Jarvie is very good, but am currently on Grants, which is the best of the cheaper blends (especially the port barrel stuff)...

I love Islay malts. Laphroaig, Lagavulen, Ardbeg , Bruichladdich.

There's a bar in Aberdeen called The Grill which has several hundred whiskies. Fantastic place.

I saw about 40/50 different whiskys thee Other day In a shop one bottle was £120

another bottle not much bigger than a bottle of holsten pils and about as wide As a bottle of johnny walker was over £80 similar sized bottles or bigger with Prize tags of £40 up to and over £70 for that price I,d watch it mature and hopefully watch the prize tag go up..

One of the best whiskys I've ever d*unk was Loch Dhu black whisky. It had a sweet edge and was so 'drinkable'!

Bought it a couple of times from Oddbins years ago, £20odd a bottle. It's no longer produced and sells for over £200 nowadays.

Everyday my choice would b. Bushmills original or glenkinchie, I don't like the peaty whiskies,

If it's a special occasion Johnny walker Blue label it's lush,

Bourbon either bulleit or Woodford reserve

It has to be Islay for me peat, peat and more PEAT

Friends and I went a cycle camping holiday there this year absolutely Fabulous. Lagavulin was my nip of choice followed by Laphroaig. We're splitting a midges hair here they are both spectacular.

ugh, not fond of peaty or too much charring in the barrel. Malts arent really my thing though

We did a tour of the Bourbon distilleries of Kentucky and tasted plenty, my favourites are from Heaven Hills distillery, Evan Williams black label as "glug" and Elijah Craig 12 year small batch for "best"

I prefer mine with a single small cube of ice made from filtered water, allowed to slowly melt to chill the whiskey.
