Crikey, just a few degrees drop in temperature and I am wheezing like an 80 a day smoker.

Never have any problems other than start of cold weather and spring when the blossom season starts

Wear a scarf so it covers your mouth. It will warm the air as you breath in.

Don't tie it too tight though

I'm the same. Cold air is a trigger for my chest tightening up. I have a puff on the inhaler before I set off on my bike for work. That seems to keep it at bay for me.
