"No, I haven't caught something (geez! the number of people that wish I had .. wow), but I was wondering the number of times I've heard a similar statement while watching Doctor Who,.. and The doctor gets a phone call from his companion at the time. Think about it: Rose Tyler phones Ecclestone's 9th. Seasons later, she phones Tennant's 10th. Donna also phones Tennant. Then Amy Pond phones Smith's 11th. They bring in Clara Oswald who phones Smith. And now Clara is phoning Capaldi's 12th. Aside from massive roaming charges on a galactic scale... how do the companions know which "Doctor" they're phoning? Put it this way, considering the Doctor travels in time and space all over the shop (and am guessing he doesn't change the phone number of the Tardis often),.. how has Tennant never picked up the phone and gone "Clara who?" or Ecclestone gone "Who the hell are you calling me Raggedy man?" In short, how do the companions always get THEIR version of the Doctor?" I like your thinking. Good work! | |||
