Not sure if this is a metaphor or not, if it is I like both, very nice packaging and a quality product underneath always is very nice!

If you are genuinely talking about consumer products, then sod the packaging - just concerned with the product

It's always a pleasure to unwrap something that is packaged nicely. But a plain wrapper will get ripped off without much care.

I often refer to packaging mainly because packaging it's less relevant than what's inside ie I like a personality ahead of looks/figure but looks/figure ahead of clothes

I don't believe you wouldn't eat a broken biscuit. You wouldn't necessarily know the biscuit is toxic until after it has been eaten. Stick with the box as at least that's low calorie.

I choose functional, quality products with good reviews but I like them to come in pretty packaging too!

Pretty packaging alone isn't enough to tempt me.

Pretty and functional with as little plastic as possible.

Oh and none of those ties that fasten stuff to the packaging that you need a sharp knife to get off and then you cut yourself and the product in the process

I don't mind, but I do get a bit annoyed with over elaborate dvd boxsets. My gaffer has a lot of trouble opening them and frankly some boxsets have spun off into the realm of wankery in how elaborate they are.

That's somewhat different, I'm a bit of a snob in that department...

When it comes to everyday household items fancy packaging makes no difference to its effectiveness. If it says toilet cleaner on the bottle, then as long as it cleans my toilet I'll buy it.

only cardboard boxes I don't really have stuff that's wrapped up. They did eat a bow that was wrapped round a bottle of wine then shitbit out
