Smeg washer didn't like the power cut last night and came up with E4 code. I know it simply needs resetting but Google is keeping it a secret.

Help please.

First one I tried, no luck though. There is actually nothing wrong with it, it just didn't like the power cut.

That can help but a hammer is my go to resetting tool of choice.

If it doesn't work, use a bigger hammer.

Good luck!

"E4

Water heating sensor error detected

If thermistor circuit is abnormal, this error will occur.

Check thermistor or temperature sensor

Check the thermistor resistance

Check wiring to water heating element

Check connections to water heating element and temperature sensor"

You may need a screwdriver rather than a hammer!!

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

A

Menston near Ilkley

Unplug from power socket, then after ten seconds plug it in again.
