Not having these kids stuck inside all day playing on their phones, I'm turning off the broadband.

Managed to get them both out, phew. Playing conkers or kicking leaves, or some other activity from the 1970s.

(Yes, I realise their probably in the park on the free wifi , grrr)

Oops.

Mind you, I used to make my living doing fairly high level IT. A couple of weeks ago I was putting together a computer system.

I switched it on to test it and found I couldn't see the NAS drive. Weird, I thought, I know I connected it to the switch.

Then I noticed I had no internet connection.

I hadn't plugged the network cable into the PC itself!

Total head/desk moment!
