Dinnertime is the evening meal you give your husband after a hard day's work. It has to be nutritious and filling. Tonight I have no idea what we're having as I no longer have a husband and my daughter is bringing it in after work

where you got your school dinner lol, dinner and lunch are the same thing, school dinners are called that for a reason, what we pick up later because of where we live is neither here nor there, you are taught young that your lunch/dinner time is around midday, thats just the way it is, all the variations came later.

I know there is life up there.

The real difference between using dinner for the midday meal instead of the evening meal is that servants had their main meal at lunchtime. They would be too busy serving the large dinner to rich in the evening and had a smaller meal (tea - although not cucumber sandwiches, I think) themselves prior to service. Everyone then had a small supper.

So, tea it is.
