Somewhere in North Norfolk

My aloe vera are producing pups faster than I can cope with them.

Norwich is going to be over-run with aloe vera plants at this rate.

This could be a fun thread if all the replies are as good as those so far

few odd sweet peas still budding away - nasturtiums on their second round of growth and will stay bright until the first frost then they wilt and give up

You may get to enjoy their flowers, if the come out in time, without them being covered in blackfly, I have some also in bud.

This type of weather often Arrives at this time of the year to

Fool plants, I remember for years here

It seemed every winter was milder than

Normal, Only a couple of years ago I

Grew some cornflowers in my conservatory and the first flowers

Came out new years day no heating

Either, the winters of 2010/2011 were

Certainly a wake up call after all

Those mild winters.

Yes nastursiums The same here at least for this short period Which like you say will with the first frost demise, will escape the attention Of the cabbage white butterflie If I did,t take out the catterpillars or eggs which are In Their hundreds the nastursiums would,nt last long I find blackflie more difficult to deal with.

I just let them get on with what their are doing, annoying as it is to see them covering a plant.

I like butterflies so grow early sprouting brocolli to encourage them - for 5 years they have eaten them all and I have not had a crop, but they keep growing so I regard that a very good and cheap way of feeding plant eaters

The earliest I have seen daffodills was in february not individuals but a whole bed of them about 5 years ago now but there not a winter flower should be a spring flower But its amazeing how many still come out During the winter months when the right Conditions exist.

Central

Passion fliers bloom here till frosts and our mild extended summer and autumn has pushed loads of stuff into reinvigoration. Lavender and peppers flowering but some daffodils already poked through the soil.

Strange year. It's better for perennial plants to toughen up as they harden off, with riper hardwood etc.

Enjoy the roses, sweet peas etc whilst they last and cut some for indoors if frost is forecast.

I tend to just let plants do their thing, but always like the surprise of a splash of colour, hate to say though my new acer is looking very sad

I had a azalea bought for me earlier in The year and because they are so suseptible to right soil conditions In this case acid one,s I dare,nt move It Out of the pot the leave,s are deep red Now as are the flowers not easy plants to grow if you have not prepared the ground thats why I won,t buy them Personally not all plants like acid conditions thats the trouble may just Keep potting on see how it handle,s the first winter.

All my Dalhias are still flowering . Once we have the first hard frost will have to make a decision as to whether to lift them or leave them in. Lost a lot in 2010 /11. Alway great great comments about them as people walk past . I have about 150 to lift at various locations so might just take a chance and leave them in . Fingers crossed for a mild winter though we do need a prolonged frost to kill various bugs .

Whack some H2SO4 in the pot, it will do it wonders.

Leave them in and put a few inch of straw mulch on top?
