well done, 4 lb a week is a big loss and shows that it can be done with the right approach and commitment!

don't do what lots of others do and expect the next 20 to be as quick, keep up the good work and don't reward yourself with a cake

Well done. great achievement but do be careful that you don't lose it too fast.

The recommended guidelines are to lose 2lbs per week for sustainable and healthy weight loss (I'm talking from experience here having lost 17 stone over 5 years, and also having trained as a gym instructor)

I've done weight watchers and lost 4 stone in 5 months. I think with me I put weight on really quickly but lose quicker. I've done that after all 3 of my little ones xx

one of the biggest problem with diets is the fact that as soon as you faulter it can pile on pretty sharpish and undo your hard work pretty quickly, a lifestyle change is a better way to achieve long lasting results without the emphasis on just the 'diet'

definitely this. As a yo-yo dieter previously, it took a lifestyle change and major alteration to my thoughts to maintain weight loss, and stay healthy now. No more yo-yo for me.

Exactly my gym is my friend right now. I've never felt more alive and positive. And not dietting just healthy eating. Xx

Ww isn't really a diet though as it encourages you to change your eating habits... Like more water, more fruit, more good food. You can eat orher food but it teaches you about choices and food that makes you stay full for longer.

Well done to the original poster x

Specific dieting is no substitute from a mixed healthy diet and daily exercise to achieve optimum weight.

There's no point shedding the pounds if your insides aren't up to scratch.

Just my opinion.

Any weight loss and effort to be healthier is better than nothing though, surely?

Having lost some weight might encourage some to exercise when they hadn't previously.

I think it's possible to work on being healthier without having to go the whole hog to start with.

Some people need to do it in steps and it's important that the first few steps are ones they can maintain, don't put them off and show results.

I'm on low carb diet at the moment and have cut out sugar completely.

I am a classic sugar junkie and I can't moderate my intake. I have to give it up completely.

It takes me two or three months to adjust to it fully and in that time it's pretty much impossible for me to make any other changes to my diet or exercise. It takes all my willpower.
