Cancel Christmas

Bradford

Cadbury has decided to stop producing chocolate coins, prompting some distraught fans to declare that Christmas should be cancelled as a result.

A spokesman for the now US-owned company said that wrapping gold foil around a circular piece of chocolate was "fiddly" and that it was purely a commercial decision.

"We are sorry to see the coins go, but that's business," the spokesman told the Daily Telegraph.

Chocolate coins are available elsewhere. Cadburymas will just have to be remarketed.

This is the problem when American companies take over .. It becomes all about profits! Dont be surprised to see the Cadburys label being replaced by Krafts .. for `commercial reasons’

Septic wankers...

Since taking over Cadbury they have sweetened the Dairy Milk to Galaxy levels and added a million fucking other things to different 'special' bars. Which they certainly arent anymore.

Forget the coins...give me a proper Bumper bar of Dairy Milk. The type I grew up with and loved.

Do you agree cheap chocolate is as good as quality chocolate? Quality being Cadburys, Galaxy, Nestle and Lidnt to name a few

That's true 50p. I don't like the chocolate but I don't like Cadbury's either, they are great for children though.

That's not my point.

My point is I don't care if Cadbury stop making chocolate coins. The chocolate is still available and that's what is important.

Bought a box of Hotel Chocolate as a present last year. It was ridiculously expensive and most of the chocolate tasted revolting. Recently had some Cadburys Milk tray , every one tasted great.

Chocolate is most definitely not chocolate.

*sigh*

Does Cadbury's chocolate taste different when wrapped as coins rather than wrapped in bars then?

That was my point.

If its the same shit, no. Its just a differn't shape.

Small buttons taste the same as big buttons that taste the same as a plain bar or dairy milk.

If you dont eat chocolate I understand now why you didnt answer my question above.

I can taste the difference and see it, between good chocolate and shit chocolate.

Except I was the one that said chocolate is chocolate, I wasn't comparing different brands and I'd already clarified that once.

to me it does, just as it tastes different if it's a big chunk or a thin bar.

There's nothing to get into. I've clarified my point twice now.

If that's not good enough, tough.

If you're going to argue a point already clarified then expect weary sighs.

I said chocolate is chocolate, meaning TO ME Cadbury's chocolate is Cadbury's chocolate whether it is wrapped as coins or not. That Cadbury's are ceasing to make chocolate coins does not bother me for that reason.

I'm not sure how I can make it any clearer.

"Stop talking about chocolate when I'm on a no sugar diet."

Mix proper, full fat yoghurt with a bit of cream and grate in some 100% chocolate. Add a bit of sweetener if desired. The contrast in textures and flavours is awesome.

Will a child be all that bothered if their choc comes in coin or bar shapes ?

And I wouldn't describe cadburys as quality chocolate. Far from it.
