"Do they have that many lines in porn Or isn't it porn " It's not porn lol. But you've at least got to accurately portray a pizza boy/plumber/mechanic before getting down to business

"We get a lot of big film crews and over-important actors around here in Snowdonia. They act as if they own the place, tell us locals what to do and to keep away, and are generally just right up themselves! I have no idea how you manage to work in that industry without becoming a psychopathic maniac... I hope that you find somebody on Fab to ease your shattered nerves..!!! " I know what you mean. I understand having to ask people to keep away take sure filing conditions are controlled but there are polite ways of asking. I have been so lucky to have wonderful people to work with, great locations for free (including a full hospital wing at a private hospital) you just can't afford to be a self important prick if you want to do well otherwise people stop wanting to help you. But this guy tested even my patience and I have a lot if it.

"Sorry guys thus is a rant. Feel free to skip it if you want but I feel the need to vent. So I'm shooting my first feature film. Though I have no budget I have the most wonderful and dedicated team working with me. Yesterday however an actor turns up to do a small but vital role in the film. Just one creepy scene that moves the story forward. But the guy turns up NOT KNOWING ANY LINES" I spent 3 hours getting his dialogue filmed, he had to learn a bit and then film it, Learn a bit and film it... Over and over. I've never seen anything like it. My mistake though was that I didn't send him home after halfway hour. Grrrr some people just don't understand the importance of preparation and team work. Rant over " If you have no budget is ge doing it for free? In which case are you maybe being a little harsh?

I have a team so dedicated and professional who all believe in the project despite not being paid. All the hard work they are doing is incredible and for someone to come on set and waste their time and mine is disgraceful. I'm already in talks about my next film which WILL have a big budget and those dedicated team members will get fully paid roles... No lines man won't even get a phone call. It's the principle of it. Be professional or don't agree to do it.

"Well I think this post is nothing more than a shameful plug to get us in the cinema to see your film haha Seriously though, its like a mechanic with no tools, a phone with no battery ... A porn star with a limp dick. Without all the ingredients, it doesn't work. That guy sounds like a weak link, give him a really crappy scene where he will be chased by a vampire into the freezing cold sea ... Then amusingly tell him that scene will be cut as you've changed your mind haha Oh, after say ... 12 takes " Your right it is a bit of a shameless plug but why not eh I like your idea though... I'm gonna do that xD

" I worked in the industry for over a decade, and while it is a failure on his side if he's come onboard as a professional actor (paid or not), i'd also say that you (or whoever managed the castings) is equally responsible for not making sure they were properly prepared for the role, no matter how small. At least you won't make the same mistake with the budget production and this is why we've all done the 'no budget, no fee' jobs- to get the experience so you know what you're doing when you're getting paid for it- best of luck with the rest of the production/post

He was given the time to prepare. It's not my job to micro manage the actors. Actors know that they must have lines prepared before they come on set... It's that simple. He was a guy with 40 years experience on the industry and came on board because he loved the script.... And then didn't bother to learn it. It's entirely his responsibility. My mistake was not sending him home after half an hour. But he's gone now, I've cast a fantastic new actor who is ready to shoot the scene in a couple of days... So hopefully the scene will be even better.

"Do you think your passion and standards, and those of the majority of your crew, have set the bar too high for others on an unpaid basis? I'm with you by the way, done many a voluntary project and supported films with no expectation of money or fame, but it's tough to expect that with a group sometimes. Plus, the more people equates to more complications, annoying but true." I think your right so I think it's best to find people who have those same high standards as me and my team. Because once we are successful and get bigger budgets they are the people worth moving forward with. For now we have 90% of the film I'm the bag so I can't complain too much.

" I put a question mark after my original sentence. This meant I was asking if he had received a script. If he hadnt then it would have been an oversight on your part. But you sent one. So it wasn't. Well excuuuuuuse me for being nosey!
